How can I find the most cited article on a given topic?
Answer
Perform a keyword search for your topic in Scopus (directions below). Once the results are returned, select “Sort on – Cited by (highest)”. The list of results will be sorted with the most cited articles appearing on top of the list.
Getting to Scopus: Click on the A-Z databases menu option, choose “S” then scroll on LH side to Scopus. Scroll back up to find the link shown in the RH column.
Alternatively, do a search in Google Scholar and you will find an indication of the number of citations the article has achieved underneath each result shown.
